The Hong Kong Buddhist Association Chan Ma Mee York Memorial Camp has a story. It was once known as the Buddhist Youth Camp. It was established in 1979. Recognizing social needs, the Hong Kong Buddhist Association invested in renovating the campsite in 2011. It was then renamed the Tung Chung Activity Centre.
In April 2014, the center underwent another transformation. Thanks to a donation from Mr. Chan Wai Shun, a consultant of the association, it was renamed. It became The Hong Kong Buddhist Association Chan Ma Mee York Memorial Camp. This was done to honor Mr. Chan’s wife, Madam Ma Mee York.
In February 2021, The Hong Kong Buddhist Association Chan Ma Mee York Memorial Camp received a guesthouse license. This allowed it to provide lodging services. This further enhanced the camp’s facilities. The association continues to expand its services. It aims to offer even better experiences.
The Hong Kong Buddhist Association Chan Ma Mee York Memorial Camp covers approximately 50,000 square feet. It is conveniently located near the Tung Chung MTR station.
