Dare to enter a realm where time seems to stand still? Welcome to the Museumsbahnhof Vochem. It is home to a unique collection of railway treasures. This museum is not just a display. It is a testament to the enduring allure of locomotives.
The Museumsbahnhof Vochem is located on the old Renault connection in Brühl Vochem. It is the proud home of about 20 historic vehicles. These vehicles mostly come from the KBE or the surrounding region.
Among the gems housed here, you will find the steam storage locomotive DEA-UK 2. Also, admire the diesel locomotive DEA-UK 1. Both once served at Union Kraftstoff Wesseling. Do not miss the electric freight train locomotive E3. The diesel locomotive V3 is also a highlight. It comes from the former KBE.
The Uerdinger railbus VT 95 also calls this museum home. Sadly, the railcar VT 12 and the trailer VB 31 are currently out of service due to maintenance.
Currently, four vehicles are in Wesseling. One is the legendary “Silver Arrow” ET 201. It is a prototype from 1960. It paved the way for faster local trains. Its construction features welded aluminum. Passenger car 101 and two railroad service cars are also in Wesseling.
Visiting the Museumsbahnhof Vochem is possible on Saturdays. But you need to make an appointment by phone in advance. Please note that the museum is not open to the public without prior arrangement. Unauthorized entry to the railway grounds is prohibited. A visit is possible by appointment or as part of a special trip. If you want to volunteer, prior arrangement is also necessary.
