Founded in 1989 the Toronto Simpson Chinese Alliance Church stands as a testament to faith and community. Initially a gathering of Hong Kong immigrants it met in a school. The church lacked a permanent home. This changed in 1996 when it acquired its current property on Commander Boulevard. The church’s story isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s a reflection of Toronto’s evolving demographics. As the city changed so did the church. A second-generation Chinese population emerged. To serve this group the church started an English service in 2000. The influx of mainland Chinese immigrants led to the Mandarin ministry in 2002. By 2010 this ministry had its own Sunday service.
Today the Toronto Simpson Chinese Alliance Church thrives. Its Cantonese service draws around 150 people. The English service has about 60 attendees. The Mandarin service attracts approximately 50. These numbers represent more than just attendance. They signify the diversity and growth of the congregation. Beyond Sunday services the church offers a vibrant array of fellowship groups and small groups. A strong children’s ministry nurtures young ones.
