Its history whispers tales of a simpler time, a time when the area was known as “Old Dragon Gully”. Lo Lung Hang was once a quiet valley nestled northwest of Hung Hom in Kowloon City District. The Valley Road Estate once called this area home. Now, much of the valley is hidden beneath the modern city. Yet, echoes of the past remain. A street near the Hung Hom MTR station still bears the name Lo Lung Hang Street. Deep beneath Lo Lung Hang Hill runs the Sha Tin to Central Link and Kwun Tong line Extension, connecting the past to the present. Imagine 1911. The small community of Lo Lung Hang bustled with 204 residents. The majority, 178, were men, likely working the land or involved in early development projects. Lo Lung Hang Hill itself, the eastern portion of the old valley, stands as a silent witness to the area’s transformation. From a quiet gully to a vibrant part of a metropolis, Lo Lung Hang Hill holds the stories of generations. The whispers of Old Dragon Gully are faint now.
