Can you hear the gentle babbling of the Kopaninsky potok? This unassuming stream meandering through the outskirts of Prague might seem ordinary at first glance. However, the Kopaninsky potok holds a fascinating history intertwined with the city it borders. The Kopaninsky potok flows for 4.4 km. It originates from the Ruzyně Airport area and gets its name from the charming village of Přední Kopanina which it gracefully traverses. Our journey along the Kopaninsky potok takes us past the scenic natural monument of Opukov lom, a former quarry now reclaimed by nature. It’s hard to believe this tranquil stream eventually merges with the larger Únětický potok. This confluence occurs near Statenice. The Kopaninsky potok serves as a reminder that even amidst bustling cities, nature finds a way to flow, connecting us to the past.
