Let’s dive into the history of this now-vanished station. The \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 was located in what is now Setagaya Ward Tokyo. More precisely it was in Higashi Tamagawa. This area used to be called Tokyo City Setagaya Ward Higashi Tamagawa. Today it is Tokyo Metropolis Setagaya Ward Higashi Tamagawa 2-chome.
The operator of the \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 was the Meguro-Kamata Electric Railway. Today the operator is known as Tokyu Corporation. The \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 was kilometer 0.9 from Yukigaya.
The \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 was an above-ground station. It had one platform and one track. The station opened on October 5 1928. This was during the Showa period. Specifically it was Showa year 3.
However the \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 did not operate for very long. It closed on November 1 1935. This was Showa year 10. The closure was due to the line being discontinued.
In 1928 the Ikegami Electric Railway operated the line between Yukigaya and Shin-奥沢. This led to the opening of the \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1. In 1934 the station was integrated into the Meguro-Kamata Electric Railway. Then in 1935 the line between Yukigaya and Shin-奥沢 was discontinued. In its heyday the \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1 was popular with students. The station was near the 調布 Girls’ School. This school is now the 田園調布 Gakuen Junior and Senior High School.
Also there was a large rose garden in front of the station. Today there are few traces of the \u8acf\u8a2a\u5206\u99c5\u8de1. The area is now residential. However the road near the former station site curves. This curve follows the shape of the former platform.
The station was located between 雪が谷 and 新奥沢 stations. The distance to 新奥沢 was only 0.5 km. Today a stone monument marks the location of 新奥沢 Station along 環八通.
