Did the ancient trees surrounding Martiňák witness its humble beginnings? It’s hard to say for certain. But the story of Martiňák, as this wellness aparthotel is known, is one of resilience and transformation. Martiňák started over 200 years ago as a simple inn built by a man named Martiňák. It was a remote location then, far from the bustling city. Martiňák gained popularity when the train line from Ostrava to Čeladná was established. The inn, perhaps the only one along the route, became a beacon of warmth during harsh winters. It offered respite to lumberjacks and workers returning home. In 1927, the Klub Českých Turistů (Czech Tourist Club) acquired Martiňák. Then came the war. The inn’s secluded location became a haven for partisans, serving as their base. Even the 1st Brigade of Jan Žižka found refuge there in 1944. After the war, Martiňák passed through various hands, experiencing both prosperity and hardship. Today, Martiňák stands as a luxurious wellness aparthotel. It’s situated at Pěticestí crossroads. From here, you can embark on scenic hikes through the Beskydy mountains. Explore marked trails leading to Pustevny, Radhošť, Čertův Mlýn, Podolánky via Srdce Beskyd, or Horní Bečva. You can even visit their sister hotel, Ondrášův dvůr****, part of the Beskydy Resort, located in the charming Bílá – Mezivodí valley. Martiňák itself offers nine luxurious, self-catering apartments. Each has a balcony and is designed for adults only (12+). Indulge in the relaxing wellness zone with a whirlpool, Finnish sauna, and infrared sauna. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere on the outdoor terrace with loungers and views of the Wallachian Beskydy mountains. For an extra treat, there are new outdoor tubs with thermal water. Enjoy billiards, darts, and board games in the common room. Secure storage for bikes and skis is also available. Breakfast boxes, with sweet and savory options, are provided for a leisurely start to your day. And parking is conveniently located right next to the aparthotel. Martiňák has also embraced modern convenience. It’s the first self-service accommodation in Wallachia. Reserve online or via email (info@martinak.cz), and you’ll receive a confirmation with all necessary information. Check in online via the Alfréd mobile app up to 24 hours before arrival. The final pre-arrival email will include a five-digit code for accessing the property. Martiňák has been recognized for its excellence. It earned first place in the prestigious Czech Hotel Awards – Hotel of the Year 2022. It also won in the Wellness & Spa hotel category nationwide and the 4* hotel and Wellness & Spa hotel category in the Moravian-Silesian region.
