Two businessmen started this ambitious project but it faced challenges. By 1912 Stockholm city acquired the land for future expansion. Many original villas were demolished. Others remain transforming through time. Villa Edvardshäll at Fagersjövägen 211 stands as a testament to those early days. Built in 1903 by Edvard Samuelsson a machine worker it’s a well preserved survivor of a bygone era.
Fagersjö’s transformation continued. The 1960s brought a wave of modern architecture. Apartment buildings sprang up along Ejdervägen and Gräsandsvägen. Svenska Bostäder was the developer Sverker Feuk its architect. These sleek buildings stand as a contrast to the older villa style. Even eight striking high-rise buildings emerged then.

Construction projects posed a significant threat to the forest but its future is uncertain.
