It became the third primary school established by the La Salle Brothers in Hong Kong. The school’s name honors a generous benefactor, Mr. Chan Sui Ki. His family donated the necessary funds to equip the school, a touching tribute to their father. Originally, Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) Primary School operated on a half-day system. There were two shifts. The morning session catered to grades two, five, and six, while the afternoon session catered to grades one, three, and four. Can you imagine the organized chaos of two entire schools sharing the same space? In 2001, Ho Man Tin Estate underwent demolition and reconstruction. The school seized this opportunity to merge the morning and afternoon sessions. They transitioned into a full-day operation. The new campus, a sleek, modern structure, opened in September 2006. With this move, the school was renamed Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) Primary School. The school’s motto, “Laus Deo Semper,” translates to “Praise God always,” reflecting its Catholic foundation. The school badge features a cross, moon laurel leaves, and a lamp. These symbols embody faith, knowledge, and the guiding light of education.
