These include a multi-purpose arena, perfect for basketball, volleyball, or four badminton courts. There’s an activity room equipped with sound equipment, mats, mirrors, and dance bars. For those focused on fitness, a dedicated fitness room awaits. And for squash enthusiasts, the Centre boasts three squash courts, each convertible into table tennis rooms or multi-purpose activity rooms, complete with sound equipment, exercise mats, and mirrors. Now, picture this. It’s a Monday morning, and the Tai Wo Sports Centre is unusually quiet. From 7 am to 1 pm, the Centre undergoes its bi-monthly maintenance. The rhythmic squeak of sneakers on the court is replaced by the hum of cleaning equipment and the quiet murmur of maintenance workers. This regular upkeep ensures that the Centre remains in top condition, ready to welcome the community back to its vibrant spaces. Outside, the town of Tai Po comes alive. Buses weave through the streets, carrying commuters and shoppers. Bus route 71K from Tai Po Market Station regularly stops nearby, bringing people directly to the Tai Wo area. Those travelling from further afield can hop on the 64K from Yuen Long, the 72 from Cheung Sha Wan, or even the A47X all the way from the airport. The Tai Wo Sports Centre, nestled within the shopping centre, is easily accessible from Tai Wo MTR Station via Exit A, a mere 3-minute walk away. This convenient location makes it a popular destination for residents and visitors alike. As the maintenance period ends, the Tai Wo Sports Centre bursts back into life.
