Glenstone was founded in 2006 by Mitchell and Emily Rales. Mitchell Rales is a billionaire American businessman. Emily Wei Rales is his wife and the museum director. Glenstone is set on nearly 300 acres. The grounds feature indoor and outdoor spaces. These spaces display post-World War II artworks. These artworks challenge visitors to think deeply. Inside the Pavilions you will find 50000 square feet of exhibition space. There are 13 individual spaces for art. Some feature rotating exhibitions. It is adorned with seasonally changing plant life. This is another example of art and nature intersecting.

The Pavilion’s exhibition spaces contain wonders. Room 2 Installation includes pieces by Jackson Pollock Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol. Michael Heizer’s Collapse and Robert Gober’s Untitled 1992 are also highlights. Pipilotti Rist’s Ever Is Over All video is astonishing.

Beyond the Pavilions outdoor paths and trails await. They guide you through Glenstone’s additional acreage. You’ll see streams meadows and forests. You will also see mind-bending works like Andy Goldsworthy’s Clay Houses. Tony Smith’s Smug and Richard Serra’s Sylvester are also nearby.
