Completed in June 2017, King Tai Court stands as a testament to Hong Kong’s innovative housing solutions. King Tai Court isn’t just a building. It’s the first Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Scheme court developed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority. Located on King Fuk Street in San Po Kong, Wong Tai Sin District, King Tai Court offers a unique blend of affordability and eco-conscious design. Originally intended as a public housing estate, King Tai Court rose from the site of the former San Po Kong Factory Estate. This transformation demonstrates Hong Kong’s commitment to urban renewal and providing housing options for its citizens. The court comprises a single 32-story domestic tower block, housing 857 residential flats. These flats range in size from a cozy 192 square feet to a more spacious 494 square feet. An interesting feature of King Tai Court is its noise reduction strategy. Due to its location along the bustling Prince Edward Road East, flats facing the road have fixed windows. This helps to minimize the impact of traffic noise on residents. King Tai Court goes beyond just providing shelter. It incorporates retail spaces, parking, recreational facilities, a property management office, and even a supported hostel for the physically disabled called Pleasure Place. This thoughtful inclusion of amenities fosters a sense of community and caters to diverse needs. In May 2017, all flats in King Tai Court were sold. They were offered to sitting tenants of Public Rental Housing and eligible applicants at attractive prices, starting from HK$940,200. This initiative made homeownership a reality for many. For families with young children, King Tai Court falls within Primary One Admission School Net 43. This net includes several aided schools and Wong Tai Sin Government Primary School, providing convenient access to quality education.
