He attended Prince George’s Community College. He also went to the University of North Dakota and Washington Bible College. Pastor Sterling has degrees in Criminal Justice and Pastoral Theology. He continues to deepen his knowledge through studies at Georgetown College and Oxford University.
Pastor Sterling’s vision is expansive. He aims to reach the world with the Gospel. He wants to make disciples and edify the community. He emphasizes hands-on missions work. He believes African American churches should develop missionaries. He wants to show people that serving in the mission field is a viable choice.

Pastor Sterling has received many accolades. He was a C.H. Spurgeon Award Finalist in Preaching. He was recognized in Metropolitan Who’s Who in Religion. He was also in the National Register of Who’s Who among business professionals. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Billy Graham School of Evangelism recognized him for church growth. His article “Workplace Enthusiasm” was in WAVA’s Faith Walk Magazine. One of his sermons was published in “Oxford Sermons”. He was honored by Prince George’s Community College.
Pastor Sterling has been married to Carolyn since 1983. They have three children: LaTonya, Virtre’, and Tori. They also have four grandchildren: Jasmine, Jordon, Sterling, and Corrari.
