Established in 2006, the 土木工程学院 (College of Civil and Transportation Engineering) at Shenzhen University has a rich history. The 土木工程学院 actually began its life much earlier, in 1985, as the Department of Structural and Municipal Engineering. This department was established with support from Tsinghua University, marking a significant step in Shenzhen’s development. Over time, it evolved, changing names and expanding its scope. In 1997, it became part of the College of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Then, in 2006, it gained its current independence and name as the 土木工程学院. In 2019, another milestone: the college’s name officially changed to the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, reflecting its broader focus. Today, the 土木工程学院 stands five stories tall, a testament to its growth and importance. It offers programs in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, and Smart Transportation.
