Cardinal Stadium opened in 1985. It underwent significant upgrades in 2006. The natural grass field was replaced with a state-of-the-art artificial turf. A new Daktronics scoreboard was added in 2007 enhancing the fan experience. The turf received another refresh in 2016 ensuring a consistently high-quality playing surface.

The stadium has played host to more than just the Catholic University Cardinals. The DC Current a Major League Ultimate team called Cardinal Stadium home from 2014 to 2016. The DC Breeze an AUDL team also made the stadium their home base. For a brief period Old Glory DC a Major League Rugby club used Cardinal Stadium as its home field. This diversity showcases the stadium’s versatility and adaptability.

The 3500 seat venue is more than just a place for games. It is the center of the Catholic University’s athletic program. The Cardinals football field hockey lacrosse and track and field teams all call Cardinal Stadium their home. The atmosphere during a game is lively. Cheerleaders enthusiastically pump up the crowd.
