Wow What a sight This is the Mighty Midget Kitchen.

This isn’t just any diner folks. This is a miniature diner built from the parts of a World War II B-29 bomber. Can you imagine that? A piece of aviation history transformed into a quirky eatery.

For decades the Mighty Midget Kitchen served up tasty treats. It sat beside Mom’s Apple Pie. That was its home from the 1940s to the 1990s. It served to-go food back when the pie shop was a gas station. Think about that a tiny diner in a bustling gas station.

But time marched on. The Mighty Midget Kitchen moved in 1996. It found a new spot at the McDowell Brew Kitchen. It housed different businesses over the years even a gyro restaurant. Eventually it sat empty.

Then Avis Renshaw the owner of Mom’s Apple Pie stepped in. She had a dream. She wanted to bring the Mighty Midget Kitchen back home. It took time effort and a lot of planning. But finally in 2022 her dream came true.

The Mighty Midget Kitchen was carefully moved back to its original spot. Its iconic neon sign even went to Philadelphia for a makeover. Now it’s being renovated. It will soon serve to-go food again just like it did decades ago. This is a Leesburg landmark a testament to perseverance and a love of local history. The Mighty Midget Kitchen is more than just a diner it’s a symbol of a community’s enduring spirit.
