The construction of the Prague-Vienna railway in 1869 brought prosperity. Luxury villas sprung up. \u0158\u00ed\u010dany became a popular recreational spot.

Sports enthusiasts will find much to enjoy in \u0158\u00ed\u010dany. Rugby is popular. But you can also enjoy football hockey tennis and cycling. Several trails wind through the town and the \u0158\u00ed\u010dany forest.

Don’t miss the landmarks. Visit the ruins of the early Gothic castle. See the Church of Saints Peter and Paul on Masarykovo Square. This church has Gothic origins. It was rebuilt in Baroque style in 1719.
