By 1984-1985 the decision was made to replace the old church structure. The community embarked on an ambitious project. They rebuilt the centre from the ground up. This ensured the new masjid could meet the needs of its growing congregation. The result is a building that blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Its Ottoman-style minaret however is unique. It’s the only one in Canada built in this style.
