What secrets does this wooden giant hold? You’re standing before Doubravka XIV., a unique lookout tower in Prague’s Čihadla Nature Park. Unlike traditional towers, Doubravka XIV. is a striking three-sided pyramid constructed of acacia wood. This modern marvel was designed by architect Martin Rajniš and opened to the public in June 2018. Ninety-eight steps wind their way up the tower, leading you to a platform 20 meters high. From this vantage point, enjoy sweeping views of Prague and the surrounding area. The tower’s construction incorporates over 7 kilometers of acacia trunks, a testament to both sustainability and innovative design. Doubravka XIV. even won the National Architecture Award in 2019, a testament to its unique design. Sadly, the tower suffered a fire in 2019, likely due to vandalism. Thankfully, repairs were swift, and Doubravka XIV. continues to offer breathtaking views to all who visit.
