Adachi-ku-ritsu Senju Futaba Elementary School opened its doors in 2005. It was born from the merger of two older schools: Senju Third Elementary and Motomiya Elementary. The new school was built on the site of the former Senju Third Elementary. Students attended classes at the old Motomiya Elementary campus until the new building was completed in 2007. The school’s educational philosophy centers around three core values. These values aim to foster well-rounded individuals: eagerness to learn, thoughtful minds, and a spirited nature. Adachi-ku-ritsu Senju Futaba Elementary School boasts a unique characteristic. It’s renowned for its brass band, the “Senju Futaba Elementary School Gold Brass Band”. Formed in 2007, the band quickly gained national recognition. In their debut performance at the All-Japan Elementary School Band Festival in Tokyo, they won a gold medal. The band continues to thrive, receiving guidance from music students at Tokyo University of the Arts. They regularly participate in national band competitions. Their achievements have even earned them recognition from the Adachi Education Committee, receiving the prestigious Adachi Ward Mayor’s Award. Interestingly, the school song was composed by Tsunesuke Nobumoto, known for his work on the hit song “Long-haired Girl”. The lyrics were written by Nobuo Watarase, a former teacher at Senju Sixth Elementary School and chairman of the All-Japan Music Education Research Association Elementary School Division. The school song celebrates the spirit of Adachi-ku-ritsu Senju Futaba Elementary School. It speaks of gentle winds, smiling faces, and the joy of learning together.
