How about diving into a place where the biggest events in Brazil and South America unfold? That’s Expo Center Norte. Opened in November 1993, it rose as an alternative to Parque Anhembi. It quickly became a key venue for major events in Sāo Paulo.
Expo Center Norte is located in Vila Guilherme. This is near the Tietê Bus Terminal and the Center Norte and Lar Center Malls. Curt Otto Baumgart started planning it back in 1964. He bought land and began groundwork in the Vila Guilherme area. The Center Norte mall opened in 1984. Plans to construct an expo center on the site had already existed since the 80s. Work first began on the yellow pavilion.
Today, Expo Center Norte boasts impressive numbers. It has five pavilions. They are named Azul, Branco, Verde, Amarelo, and Vermelho. There are 21 auditoriums. The total area spans over 98000 square meters. There are 4450 parking spots.
In 2009, Expo Center Norte was renovated. A convention center was added. It featured 21 modular auditoriums and four restaurants. These auditoriums are named after regions in northern Sāo Paulo. The renovation added 11600 square meters of space. Internet and telephone services were upgraded.
Expo Center Norte hosts some of the most important annual events. These include the Brasil Game Show and ABF Franchising Expo. SET Expo and Expomusic also take place here. You will find the ISC Expo and NT Expo here too. Medical Fair Brasil and Intersolar South America are other prominent events. The Feira Guia do Estudante is held here. The Feira da Gestante, Bebê e Criança also calls this place home.
