Did the spirits of presidents past ever grace the pews of this very chapel? We stand before the Old Post Chapel at Fort Myer. It serves as the ceremonial chapel for Arlington National Cemetery. The Old Post Chapel isn’t just a place of mourning. It’s a vibrant hub for life’s milestones, hosting over 600 funerals and memorial services annually. That’s a staggering number compared to most civilian churches. But it also witnesses over 300 weddings and special services each year. The Old Post Chapel has seen a parade of presidents, almost every single one, attending services here. World leaders, dignitaries, and everyday citizens have sought solace and celebrated life’s passages within this sacred space. And the music! The Old Post Chapel houses a historically significant organ. Originally installed by the M. P. Möller Company in 1935, it has recently undergone a restoration. Allen Organ Company, in conjunction with Lewis and Hitchcock, Inc., brought this majestic instrument back to life. Now, its melodies resonate through the chapel, honoring service members and veterans each week. The Old Post Chapel at Fort Myer isn’t just a building.
