In June 1929, a representative of King Abdulaziz visited Warsaw. Poland recognized King Abdulaziz as the ruler of Hijaz, Nejd and Dependent Territories. It was the ninth state in the world to establish official relations with the Kingdom.

Cultural exchange is also a key element. A cooperation agreement exists between the Polish Center for Mediterranean Archeology and the Saudi Committee on Tourism and Antiquities. Polish teams have conducted archaeological work in Saudi Arabia.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also facilitates humanitarian efforts. Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabia’, a Saudi official, was honored by Poland. This was for his contribution to Polish-Saudi cooperation. He directed the surgery to separate Polish Siamese twins in 2005.
