It first opened its doors as Kiyose Town Municipal Kiyose Sixth Elementary School in April 1970, under the leadership of its first principal, Mr. Tatsumi. Just a few weeks later, the town celebrated with an official opening ceremony. Over the years, Kiyose Sixth Elementary School has seen many changes. In October 1970, it transitioned from a town school to a city school, becoming Kiyose Municipal Kiyose Sixth Elementary School. The school song and flag were proudly unveiled in 1972. A gymnasium was added in 1975, then renovated in 1987 and again in 2010. The schoolyard now boasts a vibrant balance beam circuit and even a biotope! Kiyose Sixth Elementary School has been recognized for its commitment to a well-rounded education. It has been designated as a school promoting human rights education, a model school for academic improvement, and a research school for school health and physical education. It also participated in research on effective use of school counselors. This school is more than just bricks and mortar.
