Silverstrand Beach is a small. It is a narrow beach located in Clear Water Bay Peninsula in Sai Kung, Hong Kong. It is locally known as \u9280\u7dda\u7063.

Like many beaches in Hong Kong, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department manages Silverstrand Beach. The department ensures the beach remains clean and safe for everyone. You will find car parking. Refreshment kiosks are here too. There are barbecue pits for cooking. Changing rooms and shower facilities make your visit more convenient. Lifeguards are on duty from April to October. They are here from 9am to 6pm. During June to August, the hours extend on weekends and public holidays. They are here from 8am to 7pm.

The Environmental Protection Department monitors the water quality at Silverstrand Beach. Currently, it is graded as Grade 2. This means the water is generally good for swimming.

Silverstrand Beach has a dark past. There have been two recorded fatal shark attacks. In 1991, a 65-year-old woman died after being bitten. In 1993, a 60-year-old man succumbed to his injuries. These incidents serve as a stark reminder of nature’s unpredictable power.

Getting to Silverstrand Beach is relatively easy. Bus 91 passes Silverstrand Beach. It is north of Hang Hau. You can get off near the small, narrow strip of sand. Take a refreshing dip. Fish are sometimes visible in the clear water.

If you are heading to Lung Ha Wan, get off the bus at Tai Au Mun village. Start walking from there. From Sai Kung, take bus 92. Change to bus 91 where Hiram’s Hwy and Clearwater Bay Road meet.

Nearby attractions enhance the appeal of Silverstrand Beach. Clearwater Bay First Beach is not far. Joss House Bay Tin Hau Temple is another interesting site.
