Our Lady of Mercy College Burraneer wasn’t always located here. It was originally established in a small cottage in Cronulla. Imagine sixteen girls, the first students, learning within those humble walls. In 1960, the Sisters of Mercy purchased the current picturesque location on Burraneer Bay. The college flourished, expanding its grounds and facilities over the years. In the early 1980s, the Sisters moved out of the Convent, allowing the school to grow even further. Our Lady of Mercy College Burraneer continued to evolve. A major renovation in 2003 brought the Mercy Centre, a new multi-purpose hall. Further work in 2014-2015 transformed the Mercy Centre into a state-of-the-art performing arts center. Then, the Catherine McAuley building opened in 2017, providing modern science labs, technology rooms, and flexible learning spaces. Our Lady of Mercy College Burraneer is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vibrant community, dedicated to empowering young women.
