In 1963, a small fellowship began to gather in Vancouver. This marked the humble beginnings of Pacific Grace MB Church. Their first official Sunday service took place in March 1964 at their original location on Frances Street. Initially known as Pacific Grace Mission Chapel, the church catered to both English and Chinese speaking congregations. As the Chinese community grew, so did their presence within the church. By 1974, a separate Chinese department was established. This growth eventually led to a significant shift. The English section dissolved, and in 1981, the church became Pacific Grace Chinese Church. The church continued to expand its reach. They planted Burnaby Pacific Grace Chinese Church in 1990 and established a south Vancouver location in 1995. This two-site model eventually led to the formation of South Vancouver Pacific Grace MB Church and North Shore Pacific Grace MB Church. Our current location, Pacific Grace MB Church, stands as a testament to this journey. The church moved to its current location at 2855 East 1st Avenue in 2009. This move marked a new chapter in the church’s history, allowing them to further serve the community. Over the years, Pacific Grace MB Church has been shepherded by several pastors. Rev. Paul Li served as the first pastor. He was followed by Rev. Eddie Chu, Rev. Enoch Wong, and Rev. David Chan. Rev. Xavier Law then led the congregation from 2011 to 2021. Today, Rev. David Chan has returned to serve as the Lead Pastor. The Pacific Grace MB Church has a rich history of growth, adaptation, and service to the community. It continues to be a vibrant center of faith in Vancouver.
