Anticipation hangs heavy in the air here at Estaçao Santa Marina. It is a future subway station. It promises to revolutionize commutes across São Paulo. Imagine a journey from Vila Brasilândia to São Joaquim. It currently takes ninety minutes by bus. Once completed, the subway will whisk you there in just 23 minutes.

Santa Marina Station is not just about speed. It is about connection. The station will serve Line 6-Orange. It will eventually link Rodovia dos Bandeirantes to Cidade Líder. Line 20-Rosa will also serve Santa Marina. It will connect to the ABC Paulista region. This includes São Bernardo do Campo and Santo André.

This station will be located where Avenida Santa Marina meets Comendador Martinelli. It is near Avenida Ermano Marchetti and the Freguesia do Ó Bridge. The area has many industrial buildings and a university. The station design considers the urban landscape. It aims to improve pedestrian and cyclist access.

Construction of Estaçao Santa Marina began in September 2015. The initial completion was set for mid-2021. But delays pushed the expected opening to the second half of 2026. One setback occurred in February 2022. Part of the construction site collapsed. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Estaçao Santa Marina will be an underground station. It will feature side platforms and exposed concrete structures. The station will have three access points. They are located on Avenida Santa Marina. Another is on Praça Dr. Pedro Corazza. The final access is on Avenida Marquês de São Vicente.

The station will be fully accessible. It will cater to passengers with disabilities. Natural light will reach the platforms. Natural ventilation will work with mechanical systems. This will ensure fresh air throughout the station. The area around Estaçao Santa Marina has several points of interest. These include Academia de Futebol Palmeiras. There is also the Centro de Treinamento São Paulo FC and TV Cultura. The Universidade Paulista is also nearby.

The construction of Line 6-Orange faced challenges. Involvement of construction companies in Operation Car Wash caused financial setbacks. But the project is moving forward. It promises to transform public transportation in São Paulo. The Patio Santa Marina will be near the station. It will serve Line 20. This shows Santa Marina’s importance in the expanding metro network.

Estaçao Santa Marina represents progress. It will connect communities. It will shorten travel times. This future station is more than concrete and steel. It embodies the spirit of São Paulo. It is a city always striving for a better tomorrow.
