Amidst the bustling energy of Sydney’s Fairfield/Bankstown district sits Chester Hill High School. Chester Hill High School first opened its doors to 325 students on February 4, 1962. A few years later, on March 1, 1965, the school was officially inaugurated by the then Premier of New South Wales, Jack Renshaw. This multiculturalism is celebrated annually with a vibrant flag ceremony and concert, a tradition since 1997. In 2005, students from a remarkable 68 countries participated, with an address from Governor Marie Bashir. Chester Hill High School also houses an Intensive English Centre, providing crucial support for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. This centre has served numerous refugees and asylum-seekers since 1978. Beyond academics, Chester Hill High School nurtures well-rounded individuals. In 2002, security upgrades were implemented to address gang-related violence. These upgrades included security fences and cameras around the school grounds.
