“Ever wondered what it’s like to find serenity amidst urban sprawl?” Right here at Shui Tseng Wan, we discover a unique blend of tranquility and accessibility. Shui Tseng Wan is a beautiful bay. It offers a peaceful escape from Hong Kong’s frenetic pace.
In Hong Kong’s North District, you’ll find Chinese walled villages hundreds of years old. They are only minutes from high-rise post-war public housing estates. Here along the border with Mainland China, the landscape shifts dramatically. It transforms from urban to small-town then to rural. The frenetic pace of Hong Kong city life slows considerably.
Minibus routes weave along back roads here. Farmers harvest strawberries lettuce watercress and taro. Steep green mountains enclose lush valleys. They once produced much of Hong Kong’s food. The North District was an important posting. It housed police and civil servants during British colonial rule. It was close to the border. The HKFYG has 22 Youth S.P.O.Ts. These youth centers provide space. They also offer opportunity to learn and develop. They focus on Strengthening Classroom Learning. They provide Continuous Learning Opportunities. They provide Experiential Learning in a Societal Context. These S.P.O.Ts offer tailor-made programmes. These programs are in combination with other provided services. Each S.P.O.T. is equipped with an M21 community studio. This facilitates development in creativity. It enhances interaction with the community through social media. There is a LEAD Lab for learning through engineering art and design. There is also a uKitchen to cook for the community. The NEIGHBOURHOOD First project has become a core component of community-based services. This is done through the S.P.O.Ts.
From August 25 2024, Hong Kong residents aged 60 or above must use the JoyYou Card. This is to enjoy the $2 Scheme. Passengers aged 65 or above can only enjoy “Concessionary Fare”. This is about half the Adult Fare using an Elder Octopus.
Shenzhen Bay Port will be closed on Sunday 23 February from 2am to 11am. This is for the Shenzhen-Hong Kong marathon. It is also for the 15th National Games athletics test event. Please plan your travels accordingly.
