Fifty years ago did you know Todashi City had a different name? Todashi City Todashi East Elementary School stands proudly before you. This very spot has witnessed countless childhood memories. It’s a public elementary school established in 1963. The school’s history is rich and vibrant. It began as Todashi Town Todashi East Elementary School.
Initially classrooms were borrowed from Todashi Second Elementary School. The gymnasium was borrowed from Todashi East Middle School. The student population grew steadily. By 2020 it exceeded 1000 students. This growth led to renovations and expansions. In 2018 a new school building project started. It aimed to address overcrowding and aging facilities. The new building was completed in 2021. It transformed the school into a small-middle-integrated school.
This wasn’t the first expansion. Todashi East Elementary School has a long history of growth and change. In 1964 a new school building was completed. The school officially opened on February 22nd 1964. A school flag and song were adopted in November 1964. The school’s name officially changed in 1966. It became Todashi City Todashi East Elementary School. This reflected Todashi’s elevation to city status.
Later developments included the addition of a speech therapy classroom in 1970. A new gymnasium was built in 1972. A new playground was added. Further renovations and expansions followed.
