Shenzhen’s architectural wonders never cease to amaze. The Huiyun Center pierces the sky, a testament to modern engineering and design. The Huiyun Center stands proudly as the first super high-rise building completed in the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base. This impressive structure was officially topped off in 2023, marking a significant milestone for the area. The Huiyun Center is not just a building; it’s a symbol of Shenzhen’s ambition and its role in the larger Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Huiyun Center boasts a main tower reaching a height of 358.7 meters, or approximately 1,178 feet. With 79 floors above ground and four below, it’s a mixed-use marvel. This skyscraper houses offices, high-end business facilities, and cultural spaces, contributing to the vibrancy of the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base. This base is envisioned as a model of a future city, incorporating a global headquarters gathering place, a metropolitan cultural hub, and an international exchange center.

This project represents a substantial investment of 14.5 billion yuan (US$2.16 billion). The Huiyun Center sits on a plot of 54,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 470,000 square meters. The Huiyun Center is conveniently located at the intersection of multiple metro lines. It sits where Line 2’s Hongshuwan Station meets Lines 9 and 11’s Hongshuwan South Station. This strategic positioning ensures easy access to the heart of the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base and the wider city. The project was a joint venture by Shenzhen Metro Group and Vanke Enterprise Co. Ltd., two powerhouses in development and urban planning. The architectural scheme was conceived by AREP Group, known for its innovative and sustainable designs. The construction of the Huiyun Center began in December 2014, culminating in its completion in 2023.

The Huiyun Center is more than just steel and glass. It embodies Shenzhen’s forward-thinking approach to urban development. It acts as a beacon, illuminating the city’s aspirations for the future. As you stand before the Huiyun Center, take a moment to appreciate the scale and ingenuity. This architectural wonder showcases not only the city’s progress but its vision for a connected and vibrant future.
