Before 1925, Wesleyan Methodists ran a mission in Davisville around 1850. Primitive Methodists were also active by 1865. In 1884, the Methodist union led to a new church. It was built on Yonge Street near Belsize Drive. This building was dedicated in 1887.
In 1925, the congregation moved to 20 Glebe Road East. That’s when it became Glebe Road United Church. The German United Church joined them in 1974. This enriched their community further. They celebrated their 25th anniversary here.
Today, Glebe Road United Church is still active. It welcomes everyone regardless of age or background. It embraces all races, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
