A refreshing dip in the lake sounds good doesn’t it? Welcome to Möllebadet. This isn’t just any swimming spot. Möllebadet boasts a long sandy beach perfect for sunbathing. There are also some charming little bathing bridges. Imagine the sun warming your skin. Children’s laughter echoes from the small playground. Möllebadet is situated in the beautiful Garnuddens nature reserve. It sits on the northern side of Lake Uttran. The lake stretches all the way from Tumba to Rönninge. The area is known for its abundance of birds. You might even spot some interesting feathered friends. Though be warned there’s a lot of bird droppings.
Möllebadet has a rich history. A kiosk provides snacks and refreshments during the summer months. Since 2011 Salem IF Innebandy club has run the kiosk. This supports local youth activities. An interesting fact is that there’s a lighted path near the beach. People jog there in summer. In winter they cross-country ski.
Getting to Möllebadet is easy. Just follow Möllevägen. It runs parallel to the commuter train tracks. You can easily reach the area from the old Uttran train station. If you arrive by car a parking area is available. However parking spaces are limited. There is alternative parking near Rönninge tennis hall. Another option is near the allotment gardens. These parking spots are a little further away. It involves a scenic walk through the woods along the lake shore.
But please note this is important. No jet skis are allowed on the lake. The local council does not allow motorboats. Respect the nature and the tranquility of this beautiful place.
