Founded in 1959 Christ College stands proudly. It’s a beacon of Christian education in Hong Kong. Its history is deeply intertwined with the lives of the Graham family. Dr James R Graham a missionary’s son felt a calling to serve. He established this college. He believed strongly in Christian education. He saw a need for a college based on these foundations. He traveled across the United States. He founded the Free China Christian College Association. He registered it in California. He purchased land in Kuandu Taiwan. He started Christ’s College with a four-year program. The campus is situated on a plateau. It commands a stunning view of the Tamsui River. The Goddess of Mercy mountain range provides a breathtaking backdrop. Dr Graham also founded the Free China Foundation. This non-profit foundation controls Christ College. It was registered with the Taipei County Government. The Ministry of the Interior officially recognized Christ College. This happened in 1966. It registered the school. Christ College came under the Presbyterian Church in America. This was in 1977. In 2012 the Ministry of Education registered the school. This made it the first government recognized Christian liberal arts college in Taiwan. Christ College Hong Kong’s story is one of faith perseverance and dedication.
