How about a trip back to 1052? That’s when the first mention of Dřevčice appeared in historical records. It is a village in the Prague-East District of the Central Bohemian Region. Today about 800 people call Dřevčice home.

In 1932, Dřevčice was a bustling place. It had a brickyard and several inns. A coppersmith and a butcher also worked here. Plus, there were multiple general stores.
The Church of Saint Bartholomew is here. It shows early Gothic style. The church was last modified in the 18th century. Also note the bell tower near the road to Brandýs. It holds three bells.
Also of interest are the five niche chapels. They mark a pilgrimage route from Prague to Stará Boleslav. These chapels were built between 1674 and 1690. Dřevčice has seven properties recognized as cultural monuments.
Getting around Dřevčice is fairly straightforward. The II/610 road runs through the village. It connects Prague with other towns. Public buses connect Dřevčice with Prague and Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav.
