In 1932, a beacon of faith emerged in Toronto. Francis O’Connor purchased a modest, unused Methodist church at the corner of Victoria Park and Lawrence. He transformed it into the Precious Blood Catholic Church. His sole condition for this act of generosity was the name. The church would be known as “Precious Blood”. Precious Blood Catholic Church served its community faithfully. Then, in 1954, the church underwent a significant transformation, rebuilding itself into the structure we see today. The Precious Blood Catholic Church is nestled within the vibrant tapestry of Scarborough. Its boundaries are clearly defined. To the north, they follow Cassandra Boulevard eastward, then southward along Underhill Drive, Beveridge Drive, Avonwick Gate, and Mission Drive. Continuing east along Castlegrove Boulevard, then south on Broadlands Boulevard and Clintwood Gate, and finally south again on Victoria Park Avenue to the railway tracks. Warden Avenue marks the eastern boundary. Eglinton Avenue East defines the southern edge. Finally, the Don River East Branch and the Don Valley Parkway form the western limits. This vibrant community within these boundaries finds solace and inspiration at Precious Blood Catholic Church.
