Did you know Caposile is divided? It is split between two municipalities. Part of it belongs to Musile di Piave. The other part belongs to San Donà di Piave. Caposile sits on the right bank of the Piave River. Here, the Sile River flows into the old Piave.
Caposile might seem like a quiet place now. But it has seen fierce battles. During World War I, the Austro-Hungarian army crossed the Piave here in June 1918. This was part of the Battle of Solstice. The troops tried to advance. But they couldn’t break through the Italian defenses. The Piave flooded. Italian artillery and the Air Force fired constantly. The Austro-Hungarian command realized they couldn’t advance. They ordered a retreat on June 23.
Today, Caposile offers a different kind of experience. It’s known for its after-hours club scene. After Caposile started as an after-hour venue. It invited DJs like Margaret Dygas and Sonja Moonear. They created a special energy in the morning hours. The club provided a safe space to dance and connect. There was a strict no-camera policy. This encouraged a hypnotic state.
After Caposile has grown over the years. It now includes a full club room and a garden. The club has welcomed house music artists. D’Julz, Gene On Earth, Raresh, Nu Zau, and Sepp have all played here. It’s a unique place. Artists can play extended sets without worrying about cameras. The sound system is a priority. It has been upgraded to D&B Audiotechnik.
The venue also has its own record label. It features local artists. Francesco Maddalena, Marco Dez, and Alessio Viggiano have released music on the label. The music ranges from house to minimal techno. The label invites established artists for remixes. Traumer, iO Mullen, and Dewalta have all contributed.
Caposile continues to evolve. It hosts collaborative events. It is a place where music and community come together. This small area has a rich history. It has transformed from a battleground. Now it is a place for music and connection.
