The Shops at Wisconsin Place stand on the site of a former Woodward & Lothrop department store. It later became Hecht’s. Hecht’s closed its doors in 2005 paving the way for a new era.

In 2007, The Shops at Wisconsin Place welcomed its anchor store Bloomingdale’s. Whole Foods Market joined the scene in 2010. These additions solidified the center’s place as a retail destination.
