The scent of freshly cut grass and blooming jasmine fills the air. This is Igreja Batista Água Viva in São Paulo.
Igreja Batista Água Viva wasn’t always this beautiful building. It began in 1994. A small congregation met in a rented hall. Pastor Brasílio Ferreira Dias and Missionária Eny de Oliveira Terra Dias led the way. They served until 1997. The group was then known as Igreja Evangélica Água Viva. It was linked to the Igreja Batista de São Paulo.
In August 1997 Pastor Tonny and Pastora Luciene Fernandes Moreira arrived. They took over leadership. They had a vision for growth. A plot of land in Jardim Nova Bocaina II was purchased in 1998. This was thanks to help from the Igreja Batista de São Paulo. The construction of their own temple began.
Finally on October 31 1999 the first service was held in their new temple. It was a momentous occasion. The move marked a new era. On March 25 2000 Igreja Evangélica Água Viva became an independent church. They officially adopted the name Igreja Batista Água Viva. The church remains at Alameda das Camélias 104 Jardim Nova Bocaina II. They continue to serve the community.
Today Igreja Batista Água Viva is a vibrant center. It offers weekly services. They also have radio programs. There’s a website too. A 24 hour prayer line is available. Spiritual teaching is provided. This is for all ages. There are outreach programs as well. This includes preaching points and peace houses. Pastoral visits and counseling are also offered.
The church seeks to bless Bocaina and the surrounding region. Their continuous prayers offer support and guidance to many. Igreja Batista Água Viva continues to grow and adapt. Their commitment to faith and community makes it a special place. It’s a true testament to perseverance and dedication.
