The price? A mere $10,300. A mission congregation was formed. Fast forward to 1964. The name “Galilee” was chosen, reflecting the church’s proximity to Fresh Pond. The first service was held at Lake Shore Elementary School. Sixty-six souls gathered, marking the humble beginnings of Galilee Lutheran Church. The church was officially incorporated in 1965. A dedication service followed in March. Galilee Lutheran Church thrived. Evangelism was a core value. A tithe was dedicated to outreach through the American Lutheran Church.
