Stora Dammen, meaning ‘large pond’, isn’t a lake but a dammed-up stream, part of the Harbrobäckan, a historic watercourse. You might be surprised to know that Stora Dammen has been here for hundreds of years. It’s even marked on a map from 1636. And it’s not just a pretty face: it’s an important part of the local ecosystem, supplying downstream watercourses with clean water.
