Universidade S\u00e3o Judas Tadeu started as a humble college in 1971. It offered only two courses: Business Administration and Accounting. It wasn’t until 1989 that it officially became a university. This marked a significant milestone in its history.
The story of Universidade S\u00e3o Judas Tadeu began much earlier. Professors Alberto Mesquita de Camargo and Alzira Altenfelder Silva Mesquita founded an admission course in 1947. This course prepared students for state gymnasiums. Their dedication led to the establishment of Colégio S\u00e3o Judas Tadeu.
The university boasts several campuses across S\u00e3o Paulo. The main campus is in Mooca. It is a large complex with five buildings. These buildings house 174 classrooms and 128 laboratories. A large library supports research and learning. Two large lecture theaters and a theater offer spaces for presentations and performances. The Mooca campus is easily accessible via the Bresser-Mooca and Belém metro stations.
The Butantã campus is a modern single building. It is near the Butantã metro station. While it currently offers fewer courses than the Mooca campus, expansion is planned.
