Stepping back in time, let’s explore the vibrant history of Ichikawa Shiritsu Miyata Shogakkou. Here, at this very spot, stands a school steeped in legacy, a testament to the passage of time and the growth of a community. Ichikawa Shiritsu Miyata Shogakkou first opened its doors in 1950, separating from Ichikawa Elementary School with an initial student body of 701 eager learners. The school quickly became a cornerstone of the community. In 1960, the school song, composed by Nishi Yasoji, was established, echoing the spirit of learning and growth. Ichikawa Shiritsu Miyata Shogakkou has seen its share of growth and change. At its peak in 1967, the school housed a staggering 1,214 students. The school has undergone several construction projects. A three-story steel-framed building was erected in 1961. A four-story steel-framed building and auditorium were added in 1966. A separate two-story steel building further expanded the campus in 1979. Even today, Ichikawa Shiritsu Miyata Shogakkou continues to adapt. The school is undergoing a reconstruction project, responding to the aging facilities and fluctuating student population. This project, based on the “Public Facility Individual Plan” and “School Environment Basic Plan”, aims to modernize the school. The target completion date for the new school building is mid-2025. This project signifies a renewed commitment to education. It represents a link between the past and the future of Ichikawa Shiritsu Miyata Shogakkou.
