“70 exceptional trainees, can you imagine that?” whispered a young man to his friend, gesturing towards the imposing TU Wien campus buildings. Hacking might sound like something out of a spy thriller, but here in Vienna, it’s a serious business. In fact, right here in Hacking, a district of Vienna, a cybersecurity revolution is brewing. You see, Hacking isn’t just a cool name on the map. It represents a district where technological innovation thrives, mirroring Vienna’s emergence as a leading force in European cybersecurity. This movement gained significant momentum in 2022, when Vienna hosted Europe’s Hacker Championship, the ECSC. The energy was electric, with the best minds in cybersecurity battling it out. This event solidified Vienna, and by extension, Hacking’s reputation as a hub for cutting-edge cybersecurity training and education. And the TU Wien Cybersecurity Center is right at the heart of it all. Just last year, they held an intensive International Ethical Hacking Bootcamp, drawing in talented young minds from across Europe. For three days, these future cyber guardians honed their skills, preparing for the challenges of the digital age, right here in Hacking.
