Emerging from the vibrant heart of São Paulo, Senai stands as a testament to Brazil’s dedication to industrial education. Right here on Avenida Paulista, at number 750, Senai isn’t just a building. It’s a symbol of opportunity, a beacon for millions seeking to hone their skills and contribute to Brazil’s ever-evolving industrial landscape. Senai, part of a larger system that includes the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the Social Service of Industry (SESI), and the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL), has been shaping the nation’s workforce since 1942. Think about it: over 55 million professionals have graduated from Senai’s programs. Today, Senai boasts nearly 800 mobile and fixed units across Brazil. These units offer a staggering 3,000 courses, catering to 28 industrial areas. Senai’s impact extends beyond Brazil’s borders. In partnership with Brazil’s Ministry of External Relations, Senai operates workforce-training centers in several countries. These include Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Guatemala, Paraguay, and East Timor. They are also establishing centers in Mozambique, Peru, Jamaica, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Haiti. Senai isn’t just about training. It’s about innovation. A network of 208 certified laboratories provides technical and technological services to companies throughout the country. In 2011 alone, this network serviced over 18,000 companies, undertaking almost 140,000 services. These services directly supported industrial innovation and technological development in Brazil. Senai partnered with the Innovation Fund to further higher education partnerships. This fostered student academic training and exchanges for the Brazil-U.S. Competition for Innovation & Technological Development in 2018. So, as you stand before Senai, remember, you’re not just looking at a building. You’re witnessing the embodiment of Brazilian ingenuity and the promise of a brighter future.
