Opened in 1931, The Sydney Private Hospital whispers tales of bygone eras. Originally known as the Masonic Hospital, The Sydney Private Hospital first served as a sanctuary for expectant mothers. It stood on the grounds of the Fernleigh Rest Home, a place offering pre and post-natal care for those less fortunate. The Sydney Private Hospital evolved from these humble beginnings. Today, it’s a modern facility owned by Macquarie Health. The Sydney Private Hospital has shed its maternity and emergency services. It now specializes in surgical and rehabilitation care. The Sydney Private Hospital offers both inpatient and day patient services. In 2020, The Sydney Private Hospital underwent a significant transformation. A new rehabilitation wing emerged, boasting private rooms and a state-of-the-art medical gymnasium. Upgrades to the patient hydrotherapy pool further enhanced the facility. The Sydney Private Hospital, located in the inner-western Sydney suburb of Ashfield, continues its legacy of care and healing.
