What began as a virtual prayer is now a physical space for devotion. We are standing before Shree Raam Mandir in Tampa. It is a beacon of faith and culture. This temple’s story is one of community and dedication.
Shree Raam Mandir’s journey started in 2012. It was officially registered as Shree Raam Mandir INC. on August 7. The temple’s initial principal address was on East Comanche Avenue in Tampa. Over time the mailing address changed to Lutz.
Narine Ramlal played a key role as the registered agent. His address was also in Lutz. He served as a director for Shree Raam Mandir. Other important figures include Prakash M. Gopee and Bhupaul Jailall. Farida Puchoon and Surujlal Puchoon also contributed.
In 2020 while the world was grappling with challenges a significant event took place in Ayodhya India. It was the foundation laying ceremony for the Lord Ram temple. Hindus across the USA joined in a virtual collective national prayer. This prayer rejoiced in the upcoming Shree Ram Mandir Poojan at Ayodhya.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America organized the prayer. It marked a historic event in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi worshipped with saints scholars and dignitaries. This was for the grand Janmabhoomi temple of Bhagwan Shri Ram.
Gaurang Vaishnav from Tampa’s World Hindu Council of America was very happy. He said that August 5 2020 would be written in golden letters. He recalled the efforts to unite Hindus. They fought for what was taken by invaders.
Water from holy rivers and earth from pilgrimage centers were used in the Poojan. The temple of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is a symbol of harmony and unity.
Across the USA Canada and Caribbean Islands people offered seva. They remembered Ashok Singhal and Mahant Shree Avaidynath. These leaders helped make the dream of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya a reality.
Priests chanted the Ram Raksha Stotra and Sri Ram Naam. Renowned singers Sanjeevani Bhelande and Anup Jalota performed Bhajans. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America hosted a Facebook live stream. It showed the foundation laying of Shree Ram Mandir.
Today Shree Raam Mandir in Tampa continues to be a cultural hub. People find a small piece of India here. They enjoy culture delicious food and beautiful deities. The services are conducted in Sanskrit with English commentary. Everyone is welcome. Shree Raam Mandir stands as a testament to faith. It embodies community spirit. It is a place where tradition and devotion come together.
