Did you know that Brambleton is located on the site of the former community of Royville? Royville existed as early as 1908. It was at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and Creighton Road. Before that, parts of Brambleton were part of Thomas Lewis’ plantation.

And here is something particularly interesting. South of us, on Belmont Ridge Road, you might notice an old dairy barn and silo. It is a sentinel of a time before Brambleton. It is one of the last vestiges of the area’s agricultural past. This barn was part of the Cornelius brothers’ property. They moved here in 1944 with 84 cows.

The barn is set for a major makeover. It will be transformed into a performing arts and community center. The Brambleton Presbyterian Church plans to hold services there.

So, as we conclude our visit to Brambleton, remember its blend of modern living and historical echoes. From its thoughtfully planned layout to its commitment to community, Brambleton offers a glimpse into the evolving landscape of Northern Virginia. It is a place where progress and preservation meet.
