Shikahama Junior High School. A name that whispers of bygone eras, echoing in the quiet corners of Adachi Ward. We stand before a space that once pulsed with the energy of young minds. Shikahama Junior High School, established on April 1, 1966, served the community for fifty years. The school aimed to nurture thoughtful, cooperative individuals. They valued respect and social responsibility. Shikahama Junior High encouraged healthy lifestyles and a love for learning. Students participated in club activities like the sports club and the culture club. There were also committee activities. One notable alumnus, Takashi Takahashi, graced its halls. In 2007, the school hosted the 8th series of the popular television show “Golden Eight.” This event injected a dose of national attention into the Shikahama Junior High experience. Sadly, Shikahama Junior High School closed its doors on April 1, 2016. It merged with Daihachi Junior High School to form a new institution. This new school, Shikahama Nanohana Junior High, continues the legacy of education in the area. While the physical presence of Shikahama Junior High may be gone, its impact remains. The memories and lessons learned within these former walls continue to shape the lives of its alumni.
